Where family, equestrian heritage, and exceptional care come together.
At the heart of our program is family. Our farm is owned by Mark & Tammy Lashey, with their daughter, Abby Brennan, serving as general manager. The Hall family—Bob, Jess, and Trey—make up our dedicated horse care team. Together, we share a hands-on approach, a deep respect for the thoroughbred, and a commitment to giving every horse thoughtful, individualized care.
More than a staff, we are a close-knit farm family. We work together, support one another, and make every decision with the well-being of our horses in mind.
Meet the family behind the Farm
Mark’s connection to farm life runs deep, shaped by generations of farmers in his family. After studying agriculture in college, he developed a lasting passion for caring for the land. Whether tending the farm, working in the garden, or maintaining the property, Mark finds great purpose and satisfaction in being a faithful steward of Fig Tree Farm. He also serves the local community as a pastor.
Mark and Tammy have been married for nearly 30 years and serve together in their church. Tammy is the creative force behind Fig Tree Farm’s identity. From the logo and brochures to the website and other design content, she thoughtfully shapes how the farm’s story is presented and shared.
Their oldest daughter, Abby, serves as general manager and is the primary contact for clients. As the welcoming face of the farm, she helps share its story and builds meaningful connections with those who visit. Abby is married to Jarvis Brennan, who maintains the grounds and lends a hand wherever he is needed. Together, Abby and Jarvis are raising two children and are joyfully expecting their third.
Mark’s greatest hope is for Fig Tree Farm to be both a place of exceptional care for thoroughbreds and a lasting family homestead—a place where their children and grandchildren will always feel at home, whether they live on the farm or simply return to gather there.

Meet Bob Hall
Bob Hall has spent a lifetime around horses. As a fourth-generation horseman, his experience spans virtually every aspect of the horse industry.
Raised in Nebraska, Bob’s passion for horses began at an early age, walking hot horses and cleaning stalls at the racetrack. As his knowledge and skills grew, he began breaking young horses, working with thoroughbreds in Nebraska, Arizona, and Oklahoma before continuing his career in Kentucky.
Bob also had the opportunity to work for legendary Thoroughbred trainer Jack Van Berg, where he gained invaluable experience helping manage all aspects of a successful racing stable.
His career eventually led him to serve as both an Assistant Starter and Starter, working at racetracks in Minnesota, Arizona, and Nebraska for more than three decades. Throughout his career, Bob earned a reputation for patience, safety, and exceptional horse handling.
After moving to Delaware to be closer to his children and grandchildren, Bob has enjoyed sharing his lifelong knowledge with the next generation. Whether teaching young riders, helping owners better understand their horses, or passing along decades of practical experience, Bob believes good horsemanship is built on trust, consistency, and respect.
Today, Bob continues to bring a lifetime of experience and a genuine love for horses to every horse and every family he works with.
Meet Jess Hall
Jess grew up in Nebraska surrounded by horses and has spent a lifetime developing a deep understanding of their care. With 20 years of experience on the racetrack, Jess has worked as a exercise rider and pony rider while also gaining experience in training, grooming, and veterinary care in Nebraska, Kansas, and Arizona. After leaving the racetrack, Jess spent several years involved in show jumping.
Jess brings a remarkable depth of knowledge, practical experience, and lifelong dedication to every horse at Fig Tree Farm.
Meet Trey Hall
Born into the horse business, Trey has grown up learning the responsibility and rewards of caring for horses. Through hands-on experience with daily chores and barn routines, he continues to build his horsemanship skills and knowledge.
Trey is a dependable part of the horse care team and is always willing to help ensure that every horse receives attentive, consistent care.
